Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.
This model includes a MaxFlow 5 Oiled Filter for improved performance with the comfort of oiled filtration technology for those looking for horsepower.

Overall the item is well made, looks nice and performs well. The only thing I don't like about it was the cheap flimsy plastic and screws holding the MAF in. This should have come with some thicker plastic or metal inserts to prevent stripping or the MAF accidentally getting pulled out when changing the filter media.
United StatesI installed it last weekend. The build quality is pretty bad. The filter tube is too long and a bunch of mounting hardware was missing. Pretty disappointed in a product that wasn’t cheap.

United StatesI know this isn’t supposed to be for 1996-1998, but with some extra work and parts it works flawlessly! I put this in my 1998 Toyota 4Runner, The only other part you’ll need is a 1999-2002 MAF sensor. And the only other tool you’ll need is a pick set. There’s a bunch of fourms with how to do it, but basically you just need to re wire the connection, and it works amazing. Great upgrade, Absolutely worth the time and money!

United StatesTook about 30 minutes to take out the old factory intake and install the new one with a cleaner better look! Overall performance of the new volant intake is amazing and sounds amazing too. 10/10 would buy again.
