Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.

I thought I was paying a bit extra for the nicer CAI but am pretty disappointed with the quality. Upon install the compressor can only be mounted in a way that badly pinches the tube from the engine to the compressor. And the house extension provided just barely fit the compressor as well. The housing also poorly lined up with the frame to bolt it. The cover for the housing is also poorly machined, it doesn’t line up with where it’s drilled so you have to force the screws down. It did make it sound a bit better but definitely disappointing for what I paid.
i've had my Volant intake for about 2 years now, at first i really liked it. i like that it has a deep growl when you mash the gas, it probably did add a bit of hp but i can't tell. now here's the sucky part, when i first bought this it had an exposed front air dam that i wanted to close. Well, Volant doesn't sell that piece nor give you one in the box and if you don't buy the front dam, it'll stay exposed. I have a snorkel (yes, its properly sealed and has an upgraded cone to help reduce rain water from going in it) and this definitely defeats the purpose of one, so trip to hardware store for a 3" diam cup to cover it. second thing is the secondary pump placement, its attached to the box and the grommets from your pump go there which for inexperienced people those grommets won't keep water out if in a water crossing. so FIPG that or jb weld with the grommets (its a no brainer, but inexperienced people get a pass). 3rd is replacement hardware, there isn't much on here to buy. they sell you the intake with a plex glass to see the status of your filter, which over time will warp and water can get in, if you want to replace parts you'll have to source yourself. Overall it's an ok mod but for the price probably stick to stock, unless you plan to mall crawl and not do any water crossings. its a cool intake but i should have done better research.
The overall fitment is good with exception of one air pump mount hole was just little bit off...the outer mount hole that faces inboard towards engine...if that get fixed it would be dead on perfect
Overall install was great easy to do no complicated, great for those of us that like to turn wrenches on our own vehicles. The extension hose that came with the kit to extend the air injection pump line was not the correct size, thus causing it to break when installed on the pump, overall though the old pump needed replacing so no big deal. All in all super satisfied with the intake.
Wish I could have the Tax free buy now option, took 3.months to get product as well as having to contact ypu company numerous times.
We won't bother you too much, but sometimes we have some cool stuff to talk about...
