Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.

I have purchase several volant cold air intakes for my vehicles they have always been of good quality and design, but I really don’t care for this design my opinion volant missed the mark on this unit. In order to get the filter out to clean and re oil you have to completely disassemble the intake which if the intake didn’t have the snorkel it wouldn’t be a big deal but the snorkel goes through the body hole to get down behind valance to pull air in. There’s a mounting bracket to hold the snorkel in place so you have to pull the skid plate off to get to get to the snorkel bracket to remove the intake. All of this to get the air filter out to clean and re oil what a big pain in the ***.
