It only took me around 40 minutes to install on my Dodge Durango. The cold air intake really made the 5.7 come alive. The only item I would like to see improved would be the way the mass air flow sensor fits in the air tube. I’m very satisfied with my purchase
This air filter system is well built takes about 45 minutes to install. I chose the power core filter which I feel does a much better job protecting the engine while not being restrictive. Be aware that this is not a completely enclosed box, it is open to the inner fender and backside of the headlight. It does use the oem scoop for some outside air mixed with under hood air. It gives you a nice throaty roar when you stand on it and I feel better throttle response while accelerating.
Everything about this air intake screams quality! The plastic is thick and durable, not some cheap flimsy stuff. The rubber boots that are included are super thick, yet remain very pliable and are easy to work with. I opted for the PowerCore filter which is surprisingly enormous but fits just fine inside the enclosure. I can’t really speak to the fitment seeing I bought this knowing it hadn’t been tested to fit my vehicle. That being said I, with just a small adjustment to the abs lines I was able to easily fit this in my 2021 Durango R/T. As far as performance, it has seemed to add some responsiveness. It has also added a very nice very audible growl when accelerating.
Very happy with my purchase. Easy to install, and the responds on the Jeep is phenomenal. Don’t mean to exagérate, but the intake does help the HEMI kick harder when it comes to accelerating. I really recommend this upgrade. I drive a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with a 5.7 HEMI engine.
Only had the chance to use it for a short time before getting into an accident. I had already done a mid-muffler delete, so I didnt notice any drastic sound improvements as the muffler is very effective for sound increases. My friends told me they could hear the engine actually ******* up air, so maybe there is some improvement, but its hard to tell in my case. Nonetheless, the engine seemed to run around 10-20 degrees cooler, and under total ideal conditions (flat, 55 mph, cruise control, cold air outside) i was actually getting a solid 23-24 mpg, even tho the engines only rated for 20mpg in highway conditions. There also certainly seems to be a quicker throttle response, as the power is now almost instant. My only complaints come with the terrible installation instructions, as well as I’m not sure if the $300 price is justified yet. I feel if i still had my mufflers, the sound increases would probably help justify the price better. Had to wait over 2 months for it, but i get that covid is slowing everything down.
