  • Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.

    Great product

Instalation was fairly easy, getting the piping onto the throttle body was a little struggle but it sat on nice and firm. Since installing it I feel the throttle breathing better, feels like it's putting down more power, and my favorite part is the noise coming from the engine bay.

Love the look of the new intake. I do have some drone from 2200-2800 RPM under hard acceleration, but other than that nothing.

    Quality

I was expecting a much better quality for that price range.

    Nice Product - Installation Fussy

Fitment was poor and I had to redrill the mounting holes. I did expect a better out-of-box fit as I purchased the model for my exact vehicle. Not the the drop-in experience I expected for the price. Overall it is nice once installed, but a larger project than anticipated. Sad that for nearly $500 you need to take a Dremel to it.

Spacer and Air Intake are not compatible

This throttle body spacer and air intake do not work together. I have a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 4.8L, with zero modifications. As far as the throttle body spacer, the install went as well as it could have. I found the directions to be difficult to follow. And the only official video I found online was for a Ford. I ended up stripping the threads on one of the plastic spacers that came with the kit. I was torquing to a modest 8-10nm when the threads stripped. There were no torque specifications for the kit; I made a best guess. The spacer installed okay. I could have used a little more instruction when it came to removing the stud bolts from the throttle body. I’d never done this before and I ended up stripping the threads on two of the three bolts (before I figured out a 5/16 socket would work). Since I couldn’t use the spacer with the Volant air intake, I needed to reinstall these stud bolts. Luckily I was able to chase the threads with the original nuts. It’s a really nice looking spacer, it’s just a shame that it doesn’t fit when using in tandem with the air intake.
