The Periscoop uses Volants sealed air filter box and high-velocity air intake tube. The air filter box lid also incorporates a hood seal adaptor that funnels air from a hood-mounted snorkel which extends up the passenger side of the vehicle to the roof-line. The snorkel scoop uses a polished aluminum front cover that looks great, and prevents larger debris from entering into the air intake system.
Awesome power boost and a very unique look to my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ. My rock sliders interfered with the bottom snorkel pipe joint, but nothing that could not be fixed with spacers. I wanted to also add safari rack/basket to the top of my soft top, but I believe that all the rack models that I've seen will interfere with snorkel? Also need to figure out how to take my doors off during the summer without having to remove the snorkel? I sense a fuel efficiency boost, but will need to refine my driving technique before documenting new MPGs.
Still waiting on Volant part # 175406 closed CAI before I can adequately review. Once this is received, I plan to install both at the same time on my 2006 Jeep TJ and report on the performance boost?
