Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.

Purchased this for my Chevy 454 to just try to get a little bigger intake, but I didn't want it just open to the engine bay. Installation is pretty easy, just a lot of clamps. Only complaint would be the bracket and installation process to mount the air box to the fender, it's could have been thought through better from a design standpoint. Overall I'm happy with it, I can't 100% say if there was a performance change but I would believe a slight improvement based on the quality of the product.
The product is very high quality and more importantly to me easy to install for someone with significant nerve damage in their hands. Running well.
Seems like the box was really small… smaller than the stock box… I bought a one more than a few years ago,(for a Avalanche) and I was very surprised with how big the box was…
The fit and finish or the air box is great. It fit perfect using stock mounting points. Suburban runs smoother but did not give as much power as hoped for. Overall worth the purchase if you can wait a month plus for the product. Benefit, it is CARB compliant.
So far it's ok. I haven't noticed any gas mileage help. And not really any hp difference. Throttle response is maybe a little better. I bought a K and N once for another truck I owned and noticed alot of difference in all aspects
We won't bother you too much, but sometimes we have some cool stuff to talk about...
