Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.
This model includes a MaxFlow 5 Oiled Filter for improved performance with the comfort of oiled filtration technology for those looking for horsepower.

Good quality but mine came with a messed up throttle body stud emailed them and basically told me to fix it myself for 500 bucks everything should be checked before shipping

United StatesI purchased this intake system for my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd. It really has a great appearance and wasn't difficult to install. It does require a few small modifications at the ram inlet including an air inlet if you want forced air, the horn needs to be relocated nearby and a hole needs to be drilled into the main inlet for the Cold Air Temperature sensor. You can by an extension cable for the sensor if you need it like I did. Also do yourself a favor if you use a new sensor, buy a MOPAR OEM sensor. You'll be glad that you did. Once its all put together it pretty stout and you should not have to worry about addition bolt downs.
United StatesI purchased to closed box system because I wanted clean outside air and I don't care for the unfinished look of most performance systems and I wanted a really high quality filter. The Volant closed box system with the air scoop gave me pretty close to everything everything that I was looking for. the installation was pretty easy. You could make a couple new holes to hard fasten it to the fender well if you want. The way the 1999 Dodge Ram installs, its pretty secure right out of the box. The scoop installs and looks exactly like the catalog photo shows with the slight angle. I did need to rearrange the horns to have the scoop fit as it needed, but I managed it by just turning one of the horns. The top knurled hold down nut is a tight fit at the top of the throttle body, but once the nut starts that is a non issue. Its a very good product, you won't regret making the purchase unless you want your friends to see that you have a seriously high quality and large blue air filter in the box!

United StatesStraightforward installation; parts work well. Slight modification to horn to accommodate air scoop; still need to do additional work to more securely bolt box to fender, but otherwise it is what I was looking for. Installed on a 5.2L magnum.
