Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box. Volant's Cool Air box is larger than the factory unit and incorporates a larger opening to collect a higher volume of colder ambient air.
This model includes a MaxFlow 5 Oiled Filter for improved performance with the comfort of oiled filtration technology for those looking for horsepower.

Box came beat up when it arrived. I was sent the wrong size S-Type intake bolt. Never got an email back. Was sent the wrong hardware to bolt down the air box. Also the air intake tube is about 1/2" to short to put the filter on. The throttle body gasket that comes with it is made out of foam. It will probably melt after 100 miles of driving. Also the gasket/oring used to seal the box up on the lid doesn't quite seal. 1/16" gap on 2 sides. The orings used to seal up the tube to the air box connection is also a pain. I think the cold air intake could be redesigned and made better. Had to make a few modifications to get everything to fit. With all of that being said. It didn't make a difference in performance. It helped my air fuel ratio and also helped with the throttle response. You can tell the difference. Overall not a bad purchase considering it's the only actual true cold air intake I could find for my model.
I bought it for my 90 Silverado 5.7 1500... Without resetting my ECM I noticed a tiny difference in power but a big difference in mpg. Resetting the ECM game me a cool power difference. She accels better now and i can imagine I got more muscle to pull. My mpg is even worse now but MORE AIR=MORE GAS=MORE POWER... I was gonna buy the k&n but it's too expensive but I might look for a k&n filter if it ain't too much an it fits the mod.
We won't bother you too much, but sometimes we have some cool stuff to talk about...
